Your Questions, Answered
-
I completely understand why this question is asked. Entrusting your loved one's ashes to someone you've never met is a big decision, and it requires a great deal of trust.
The truth is, there is no way for any memorial artist to physically prove that the ashes in a finished piece are the exact ashes provided. Because of this, choosing the right artist is about finding someone whose process, reputation, and communication give you confidence.
I am always happy to speak to each person individually, answer questions, explain my process in detail, and help you feel comfortable before sending your loved one's ashes.
To ensure every order is handled safely and accurately, I have a strict workflow:
As soon as your package arrives, it is checked in and you are notified that your materials have been safely received.
Your sealed package is then filed in order until I am ready to create your keepsake.
Packages remain sealed until I am actively working on that specific order.
I complete one order from start to finish before moving on to the next. I never leave an order open or unfinished, which greatly reduces the risk of mix-ups or contamination.
Every tool used during the creation of your keepsake is either single-use and disposed of immediately after your order, or made from stainless steel and thoroughly sanitized between every order. My workstation is also completely cleaned and sanitized before beginning the next keepsake.
Once your keepsake is completed, any unused ashes or inclusions are carefully resealed and returned with your finished order.
To help this process run smoothly, please ensure your order name or order number is clearly written on the outside of your mailing envelope. I do not open incoming packages to identify them, as keeping each package sealed until I begin your order helps protect your materials and prevents anything from being misplaced.
Every memorial I create is treated with the same care, respect, and attention that I would want for my own family's keepsakes. I understand these are irreplaceable memories, and I never lose sight of the trust that families place in me.

I only request approximately one teaspoon of ashes, which is more than enough to create your keepsake. I carefully prepare only the small amount needed for your piece, and all unused ashes are returned to you with your completed order.
Occasionally, a very small amount of ashes may already be mixed into the resin during the creation process and cannot be separated back out. Rather than discarding this material, I pour any remaining resin into small heart-shaped bead moulds. These are packaged separately and returned to you along with your remaining ashes.
You are welcome to add the heart pieces back in with your remaining ashes or keep them separately as a small keepsake—whichever feels most meaningful to you.
Nothing containing your loved one's ashes is ever intentionally discarded.

The resin used to create your keepsake will not yellow or tarnish over time. It is professionally formulated specifically for long-lasting jewellery clarity and finished to a beautiful, high-gloss shine.
All of my jewellery is made from solid, high-quality metals and is nickel-free and iron-free, so you do not have to worry about your jewellery "turning your finger green" like you might experience with inexpensive costume jewellery. While no material can guarantee that every individual will never have a skin sensitivity, reactions are uncommon with the materials I use.
Solid Sterling Silver (925): May naturally oxidize over time when exposed to air, moisture, or everyday wear. This is completely normal and can easily be polished back to its original shine with soap, water & a microfibre cloth.
Stainless Steel & Tungsten: Highly resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, making them excellent choices for everyday wear.
Gold Filled: Gold-filled jewellery has a thick layer of real gold permanently bonded to a base metal, making it significantly more durable than gold plating. With proper care, it can maintain its beautiful finish for many years and is highly resistant to tarnishing and fading.
Rose Gold & Yellow Gold Finishes: These pieces are plated over sterling silver or stainless steel. Like all plated jewellery, the finish may gradually fade over time depending on factors such as skin chemistry, lotions, perfumes, hand washing, and daily wear.
Although tested, to help keep your jewellery looking its best, I recommend removing it before swimming with chlorine, cleaning with chemicals, or participating in activities that may expose it to harsh chemicals or excessive wear.
With proper care, your keepsake can remain a beautiful reminder of your loved one for many years to come.

The main difference is how much real gold the jewellery contains and how long the gold colour is expected to last.
Gold Plated
A very thin layer of gold is applied over another metal.
This is the most affordable option.
With everyday wear, the gold finish can gradually wear away over time. Heat, friction & PH can speed up this process. Many people wear plated options for years with no fade, others may lose colour.
Gold Filled
Has a much thicker layer of real gold blended & bonded to the base metal.
Much more durable than gold plated.
With proper care, it can keep its beautiful gold finish for many years.
Solid Gold
Made entirely from solid gold (not plated).
The most durable and longest-lasting option.
It won't wear down to reveal another metal underneath and is ideal for a keepsake you'll wear every day.
If you're looking for the best balance of durability and affordability, gold filled is an excellent choice. If you want the highest quality and a piece that can truly last a lifetime, solid gold is the premium option.

All of my rings are made using standard US/Canadian ring sizing and are carefully checked for accuracy.
If you are unsure of your ring size, I highly recommend visiting your local jewellery store to be professionally sized. Most jewellers offer this service free of charge, and it is by far the most accurate way to determine your size.
I do not recommend using the string method, paper strips, printable sizing charts, or measuring your finger at home. The difference between half a ring size is only about 0.4 mm in diameter, so even the smallest measuring error can result in a ring that is too tight or too loose.
If you have been sized using a different country's sizing system, you can easily convert it to US/Canadian sizing using my favourite ring size conversion chart:

My average processing time is approximately 6–8 weeks from the date I receive your materials. Processing time does not begin on the date your order is placed.
Some orders may be completed sooner depending on the jewellery and materials I currently in stock. Because I do not keep every style, size, metal, or colour available at all times, certain pieces may need to be specially ordered before I can begin creating your keepsake.
For this reason, processing times may vary slightly between orders. The 6–8 week timeframe is an estimate rather than a guaranteed completion date, but I always work carefully and efficiently to return your meaningful keepsake as soon as possible without rushing the process.
Shipping time to and from my studio is not included in the processing timeframe.

As soon as your package arrives, it is checked into my system and I will send you text confirming that your materials have been safely received.
To make this process possible, please ensure you have placed your order before mailing your materials and that your order name or order number is clearly written on the outside of your mailing envelope.
Once your package has been checked in, your materials remain safely stored until it is time for me to create your keepsake. If you have sent your package with tracking, you are also welcome to monitor its delivery until I have confirmed receipt.

Every set of cremated remains is completely unique. The colour and texture can vary significantly from one person or pet to another, and this is completely normal.
Several factors can affect the appearance of cremated remains, including:
The individual's natural bone composition.
Age and overall bone density.
The cremation process (cremation vs aquamation) and temperature.
How finely the remains have been processed after cremation.
Some ashes may appear bright white, while others can be light grey, dark grey, tan, or even have subtle blue or pink tones. The texture can also range from an ultra-fine powder to a coarser, sand-like consistency.
Because every set of ashes is unique, every memorial keepsake will also be unique. The natural colour and texture of your loved one's ashes will influence the final appearance, making your keepsake truly one of a kind.

Yes! I can create keepsakes using pet fur, or human hair.
Unlike cremation ashes, hair and fur alone are often not dense enough to completely cover the metal base of certain jewellery pieces. Because of this, if you are choosing a keepsake made only with hair or fur, you may be asked to select a base colour. The hair or fur is then artistically incorporated over the coloured background, allowing it to stand out beautifully while ensuring the piece has a full, finished appearance.
If you're combining hair or fur with cremation ashes or another inclusion, a base colour may not be necessary, depending on the design you've chosen.
If you're ever unsure which option will look best, I'm always happy to help you choose a design that will showcase your loved one's hair or fur in the most beautiful way.
